New to Archery

Perhaps you have never shot a bow before or maybe you have had a go at an activity day or while on holiday. Either way we welcome anybody who wants to try archery with a view to taking up the sport. Our qualified coaches will teach you the correct technique and ensure you know how to shoot safely

The Beginners Course is a basic requirement needed to join any archery club and is based upon the Archery GB Beginners Course recommendations.

- Junior archers are key for the sustainability of our club and the future of Archery.
- Developing and maintaining an adequate coaching team is vital to support our mission.
- Developing and maintaining an adequate volunteer base is key to support club operations.

Membership

Fees for Sept 2023 - Sept 2024 are as follows:

Senior 25 yrs & Over    -    TBC
Senior 18-24 yrs           -    TBC
Junior under 18 yrs       -    TBC

Family Adult members of 2 or more receive a £10 discount per adult.

Our Values

Our aim is the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities and opportunities for the pursuit of the sport of target archery.

All surplus funds raised through membership fees, tournaments and courses are used to repair/purchase equipment, repair and maintain the club’s range, building and grounds, and to generally improve the facilities for its members.

Intro to
Archery

The beginners course covers a basic understanding of technique and disciplines for shooting in safety and with relative accuracy.

Instruction in a Selection

Scorton Archers has a number of coaches to help new and current members and also advise on equipment and setup.

League /
Tournament Shoots

During the year we have a number of club tournaments for memebers to enter. We also participate in a postal and outdoor league. The club also has a few fun shoots.

Community
Programs

Scorton Feast is held every year in the village for three days in summer. The Club supports this event by putting on a FREE Have a Go. This is held the Sunday of the Feast between 2-4pm on the club field.
